PATHEX
PATHEX is known principally as the American brand name for Pathé 9.5, although it appears also to have been used in Europe. Equipment such as resistances and spools with the Pathex label often crop up in the UK. Now that Maurice Trace is researching Pathex, we may one day know why this is. This colour ad is one of his "finds", provided by Dino Everett. Dino has also provided what he thinks may show the last gasp of 9.5 in the US - looks like a fire sale. A sound-on-disc for $39.50! He thinks it dates to 1936 or 1937.
A number of variations on the sound theme.
David Richardson seems to be an unending source of rare material. Here is a catalogue issued by Pathex in America.
While we're on the subject of Pathex, can I request any material or information anyone may have? Maurice Trace is researching Pathex and needs info. Also, note Pathexor lens below and the super condenser (once more from Dave Richardson).
I've cheated a bit on the blurb by mocking up an English-only version; I saw no reason to tidy up a load of foreign stuff to give you the whole thing.
Below are a couple of variants on the American Baby Instructions, from Dave Richardson.
There was also a camera, of course, and even, regrettably, the Kid..
